“where the light gets in” ~ by eliot lillistrand

night, somewhere night is living in a can of sticks.
half an hour later summer’d disappeared: slapped
film and printed the mirror, so when you look in
with rheumy eyes you can see the inner
construction, you can create life from
a murder. that understatement, of unmade god
in human ailments. the knock on the wrong door.
the mirror on the foggy window believes he’s nothing.
